International Life Skills, School Health and Well Being Summit 2012
The Central Board of Secondary Education has introduced life skills education as an integral part of the curriculum. The objectives of introducing life skills education are to empower the effective domain of the learned so that they are able to develop a sense of self confidence, eco sensitivity and right approaches to life processes. The Central Board of Secondary Education organized an International Life Skills, School Health & Well Being Summit 2012 in collaboration with ‘Expressions India’ under the expertise of Dr. Jitendra Nagpal a renowned senior consultant psychiatrist.
About 200 schools with 1400 students and 400 teachers from all over the country participated in the summit. Summit was inaugurated by human resource development Minister Kapil Sibal, distinguished personalities like Vineet Joshi chairman CBSE, Dr. Gilbert Botvin – the father of life skills and Dr. Aruna Broota graced the occasion with their presence.
