Description:
Simply purchasing a curriculum is not enough; creating lasting change requires leadership commitment.
The Botvin LifeSkills Training (LST) program has proven its effectiveness in reducing youth substance use and violence by building critical self-management and social skills. This session moves beyond what LST teaches and focuses on how leaders can ensure its success within their organization.
We will provide leaders with actionable strategies for institutionalizing LST—including aligning it with existing SEL and wellness initiatives, ensuring high-fidelity implementation, providing necessary staff support and protected time, and using data to measure improvements in organizational culture (such as reduced referrals and improved school connectedness), not just drug statistics. Learn how to transform LST from a standalone program into a foundational pillar of your school or organization’s preventative health strategy.
